LIMERICK RAILWAY STATION - RATHOUSE OF THE MONTH
September 27, 2004. We are happy to announce that Limerick Station has wrested the highly prestigious award of "RATHOUSE OF THE MONTH" from Cork Station and due to tremendous efforts at doing nothing to clean the station have managed to achieve an even dirtier station than Cork - and that takes some doing. We emphasise that this does not mean Cork has cleaned its act up but only that Limerick is dirtier.

Allow us to take you on a tour of the station as we did last Saturday the 25th. September 2004.

A most imposing building.

As we climb the cigarette butt strewn steps .....

One can study the vast variety of cigarette butts

Inside the hall the dirt is in a huge array of artistic patterns

The mens urinal is a work of art indeed

As is the pooh filled gents lavatory. The bottom of the seat has not been cleaned for eons to give the right odour. Oh, Pooh!

The piping complete with cobwebs and grime are in shapes of fantastic sculptures.

Whereas the pipework is surrounded by a layer of protective dirt.

Rubbish is of course strewn neatly in corners.

Whereas the corners themselves - Well, what can I say?

All that is missing from the walls is graffiti.

Whereas the back passages contain their own hidden treasures.

The rubbish bin has as much outside as inside.

And there are decorations of ticket holes on the floor.

Other corners have floors of varied patterns.

While in places the rubbish is tidied into heaps for recycling..

If you elect sit on a seat a look first!.

Or Look again and definitely do not look underneath.

Corners really take the biscuit - or is it the dirt?.

Or just why not paint them?

And they wonder why they lose things?

And no series would be complete without pooh on the track!
